Plasmon UDO Archive Appliance

The Plasmon family of Archive Appliance optical libraries offer a Network-Attached Storage approach to optical storage, combining the performance of Hard Disk and redundancy of RAID, with the simplicity and rapid deployment of NAS, and the unmatched security, reliability, and longevity of UDO Optical, to provide a secure, long-term archive for electronic business records that require authenticity and preservation, as required by a number of laws and regulations for data retention.

Based on their proven G-Series and Gx-Series optical libraries, Plasmon Archive Appliance libraries are configured with a built-in Network-Attach Storage server, up to 2TB of hard drive space for high-performance disk caching, gigabit Ethernet interface, and pre-installed jukebox management software to manage the archival of data to UDO optical media stored in the Archive Appliance.

Utilizing the latest 60GB UDO Optical platform, Plasmon UDO Archive Appliance optical libraries offer low-cost, archival storage for small companies, departmental workgroups, or Enterprise applications requiring storage capacities that range from 960GB to 38TB in a single library. For capacities greater than 38TB, an Archive Appliance “Extension Library” can be connected to the “controlling” Archive Appliance, for a total of 76TB in a single addressable Archive Appliance configuration.

The Entry-Level family of Plasmon UDO Archive Appliance optical libraries includes the AA-16 and AA-32, and offer storage capacities that range from 960GB to 1.9TB in compact, rack-mountable or floor-standing configurations.

The Mid-Range family of Plasmon UDO Archive Appliance optical libraries includes the AA-80 and AA-174, and offer storage capacities that range from 4.3TB to 10.4TB in a floor-standing configuration that optimizes data center floor space.

The Enterprise family of Plasmon UDO Archive Appliance optical libraries includes the AA-238, AA-438, and AA-638, and offer storage capacities of 14TB, 26TB, and 38TB respectively. In addition, the Enterprise Plasmon Archive Appliance UDO libraries offer advanced features such as hot-swap drives, redundant power supplies, automatic robotics calibration, and a 10-slot bulk-load media magazine.

All Plasmon Archive Appliance optical libraries are backed by an on-site warranty with 5 x 9 x 24 service coverage (M-F, 8am – 5pm, Next-Day) with the option of upgrading to 5 x 9 x 4 (M-F, 8am-5pm, 4-Hour Response) or 7 x 24 x 4 (7 Days, 24-Hours, 4-Hour Response) for mission-critical applications.
